With the Nationwide Christmas Tree shortage, tree farmers have been cutting trees when the reach a certain height, instead of leaving them in ground for a few more years and letting them grow wide.  These 7+ foot trees have spent longer in the ground than a normal 7 foot tree.  This has given them time to grow wider and fuller. Given the fact there are very few trees like this on the market and they take longer to grow, the price is more than the normal 7 foot tree
